CET....Heaven and hell in one place..!!!!!!

To be honest i was over my head and filled with lotz of pride and ego when i came to know that i got admission into my dream college CET..

It kind of fills you with superiority complex..lotz... just like how the nazis felt about their race... felt all private colleges like concentration camps...

But there is always a point in your fairytale when the big mammoth size castle that you have built will crumble down in just one second.... yeah rite,..... same thing happened here..

At the day of admission, i still remember one of our professors coming upto the polodium and telling us that CET is the only college in kerala with INTERNET FACILITY in EVERY class...!!!!!
I was shocked... I mean itz just a govt college afterall? could it have such hifi classes????
And when i entered my class i found something even more shocking...
Under the assumpion that the class would have an overhead projector , a computer with internet and all, what i found was 30 benches filled with pigeon shit!!!!!!!!!!!!

shit that was so hard and so old that it felt as stone painted like pegion poop!!!!!!!!
and walls painted white with green designs which were ferns growing on the wall due to a plumbing leakage....
Oh, the internet facility was just a port to plug a lan cable..!!!!!!

Restroom was awesome...!!!! toilets with no flush.... and no MUGS.... imagine ....
This was what CET offered me the first day.....

It was total disappoinment for me.... especially when i went to a private college in the city with my friend to find out what a neat and spick campus they have....

My class was just ok..... lotz of bujies with 3 digit ranks... no alambs.... kind of like a class which consist of school toppers (except me 'fcourse)...

But then as days go by, and the times we had, we all rite now love our college....
Itz not the hifi campus that matters or the quality of the faculty... itz the freedom that you get to live your own life....

And rite now ive got great friends whom i can trust with anything... Arun, Srijith, Jithin, ,Thampi,,.... to name a few.... sorry 4got about Saranya and Anila...
ningal ellaayirunnenkil satyamaayittum IE 4years boor aayirikkum... Thank u both of u for not taking CIVIL and taking Industrial... i dedicate post you guys.....
itz juz been 5 months still im loving it here.... i used to hate CET for the first few months bcuz of reasons which i cant tell you rite now in my blog :)

And my so called buji classmates!!!! i mistook them...all of em are kewl in their own ways... But the best thing i like about my class is the spirit of unity that gives us so much strength... btw all 3 digit rank holders in my class got suspended..!!!!!

So kudos to all my fellow royal mech comrades..... i salute you all.... itz u guyz who make my college heaven...

Earn money..... and live life the way you want....

Job Job Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone wants a Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Santhomites are on the roll, hunting for jobs!!!!!!!!!

Keeping aside all their ego's behind they are willing to work for any decent job that pays them for their cell phone bills and their movie tickets............
Reliance fresh, bigbazaar, bata showrooms..... they dont seem to mind anything.....
All they want is a job....even one in a petrol pump would do........

But the question is???

Is this a good trend???

Sure....Cuz it pays you money and its better than sitting lazy at home doing nothing!!!!!

IS THIS A DAWN OF A NEW ERA IN KERALA.............
AND ARE WE THE TRENDSETTERS?????

We all know about the summer jobs that american students do....
But here in kerala?????????

Its all about the atittude.....
The willingness to break free of the normal middle class routine and thinking wisely to utilise the time that you get now and converting this time into money......

I am no different though....
I was also on the hunt...
Fortunately my dad was there so that i neednt hunt anymore.....
Now i am working 8 hours a day at his office studying javascript and doing a lil BPO work....
And he pays me 2.5k per month.....

I couldnt complain..... its better than the Airtel job offer i got where i needed a bike and had to get customers for their postpaid connection with certain targets and lots of pressure from the company......

Its even better that the petrol boy job that me and sharan had a look into at the bakery junction petrol pump.....

And my pals Akram Aditya and Rishi are there helping the company and working as a team....

And in the league of the EMPLOYED SANTHOMITES, i feel that we are the lucky ones....

We get to learn with and from B.Tech degree holders....A C++ master mind whom we call Anoop sir.... and a time pressure free environment with two 512kbps internet connection........., while our co-leaguers either type in heavy data for 5 hours a day or go to a supermarket and entertain the customers, thereby just having some experiance of doing something and filling their pockets!!!!

This is where we all feel that we learn and have fun together with some chit-chat now and then.. And not getting the feeling that we are working for sumbody.... cuz the freedom that we enjoy There is just awesome.....You come to work anytime...You can have lunch anytime...And you can go home anytime.... And the best part is we get paid!!!

Its more like a hangout than a job!!!!!!!!!

I cant tell u the details of what the project in hand for is, cuz its confidential, still we are learning JavaScripting , CSS and hopefully create a wonders....

The worry for us is that weather we all are capable enough for doing this work?

Cuz all of us just passed 12th and we all....well... are regular flunkers in computer science...

And i think that is the only hurdle that we have.....
And i hope we are standing tall enough to jump these hurdles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Precounselling Hoax!!!!!!!

One fine morning, a month ago, i read in education plus of the Hindu that they are conductiong a precounselling session on june 15th. I decided to attend it. just because Hindu was my favorite newspaper. So i got myself registered, paid 50 bucks and reached Tagore Theatre at 8.30 which was well early.

They claimed that the program cautions us against the common mistakes that we unknowingly commit but it was something else when i reached there.

Frankly speaking, 4 hours of this 6 hours programme was just CRAP. I understand that this is a blog and that i should use my words wisely , but i am so tempted to say that it mostly consisted of BULLSHIT!!!!
The programme had two co-sponsers. One of them being SBT, gave us some useful informaton of student loans available. The other one was T.I.M.E. which filled in the BULLSHIT that i earlier mentioned...

The program was to start at 9 am.

It didnt start on time. didnt start at 9.15 .... not even at 9.30 ... and then i just realised that the organisers of the programme (Hindu officials) were as puntual as their paperboys who usually deliver the paper after i leave for school.... Hindu kept their reputation up...
I was with Adi and my mom and all three of us listened to the tunes of the 70's till 9.45am.....REALLY PROFFESIONALISTIC!!!

At last the programme started...with Prof Soman adressing us stuff that we know about medical courses available in the state. It was an extraordinary speech, but unfortunately, the content was not so useful. His style of speaking was awesome, superb... But the content was what everyone of us knows... nothing so useful about the speech except for his style of speaking... very bold, energetic and full of charitsma....
Then from nowhere comes in the educational minister mr baby and spoke about a martyr in cuba called jose marti (spelling might be wrong) and told us stories how jose along with che guaveara overthrew the government in cuba!!!!!!!

i mean... what does he want us to do?????
start a revolution, take up arms, overthrow the U.P.A. government, screw the U.S. nuclear deal, and sell petrol for 20 bucks??????

For gods sake, that was a precounselling session and not the D.Y.F.I.'s annual meet!!!!
I was seriously confused.... Then he talked about a lot of philosophy.... I dont want to explain what he said... It aint worth mentioning...
He then went on to blame the private college managements for all the havoc... As expected!!!!
But on the average it was good.......for a minister that is.....
You all have to admit that he is atleast better than his dropout collegue ministers....

And then comes the BULLSHIT PART 1.....
A lecture by T.I.M.E. on SoftSkills...
Which 12th standard needs SoftSkills now?
Right now our worries are not the interview that we are gonna face 3 years later during campus Placement... but its the admission itself... i never imagined the hindu to be so out of focus.
These kind of stuff doesnt help us in our present scenario. what we went there and need right now is proper guidance to get in a good college. It was really unnessesary.

After a break, Prof Warrier briefed us about the various engineering courses , the oppurtunities available, and the basic difference between certain branches like IT and CS, EC and EEE and AE, CIVIL and ARCHITECTURE etc etc...
this part was useful....
Later comes the joint election commisioner who briefs us the process and the common mistakes available...
Then comes PART 2  of B######T (i dont wanna use that word again and again).
Some guy from T.I.M.E. came up and told about their "excellent results" and that they are the no:1..
Yeah right... They are the no:1 losers... We know that already!!!!!!
The event ends with question and answer round where a lot of dumb questions were asked!!!

Overall ive felt that ive lost a day rather that getting some useful information. They could have just mentioned the common mistakes committed in the newspaper itself!. And i did really felt that hindu unnessesarily tried to commercialise the event by making T.I.M.E. their co sponsers.
T.I.M.E. didnt help us a bit and hindu should not have tried to make this event a publicity stunt.
Why should they keep sponsers when we have already paid 50 bucks??
Hindu committed a big mistake by letting T.I.M.E. in this event. Because by doing so, the hindu , which is considered as one of the best papers, tarnishes its own image.
Why do they have to do that just for some financial gains???
Very bad strategy, i must say.

And all those who missed it?
Just consider yourself lucky!!!!!!!!

What I Believe-My Concept of God

You ask me do i believe in God? i dont believe in any "Gods".

I believe there is a huge power that cannot be framed within the framework of a humans mind.
I believe that this power is soo huge that we will never find the true answer to what that power is and what is its intention..

And yes there are sufferings..I believe that both the concept of heaven and hell are fictious..
These two i believe are present in our earth..

Its a hell for those who are born to suffer and its a heaven for those who enjoy....

If so you could ask me the question that innocents suffer and the guilty enjoy!!!
I believe that our soul is not just our body and our life...
I believe our soul has been living and will keep on living before we were born and after we die.....
And what you are today as whoever you are is the result of your past karma or your actions of your life in your past birth...
Everything other than life has a balance and are governed by strict laws.....

Where do you find the gravitational law being broken?????

And what is life..... is it cluster of molecules that get some kind of energy from nowhere so that it could act as it could wish with its abilities???
There has to be a balance in the concept of life too because everything else in this universe has a balance...
It is now where i fell that the theory of past birth and past karma is true!!!!
Because i cannot find any other logical theory that gives a balance to life on earth...
I cannot prove this theory is right.... Neither can u prove that this theory is wrong.....
But this is what i truly believe in!!!!

And i call this power that is up there making sure that all laws including the theory of life (the theory of life cannot be made into the law of life as humans cannot prove it!) are well maintained as GOD!!!!

I dedicate this blog to all my atheist friends!!!!!
I do respect your views..... But i would also like you to respect mine.

Its always enough

a friend of mine told me years back that God doesnt exist. he reasoned out that if God did exist there wouldnt be so much sufferings in this world.
hmm.. coming to think of it, it could be true if you take into account his personal experiences...
the guy didnt get IIT as he hoped and got 700th rank in kerala entrance...
poor guy... he thought himself to be just the 700th best in the state of 4 crore people in which 1 lach aspirants wrote...

well if u ask me what i really think?.... i really think he is damn lucky to get what he has...
well...maybe anyone who reads this might think im saying this crap bcuz i didnt get the 700th rank..
but the fact is i am damn happy about my rank and i am thankful to whatever super natural power that cant be explained by humans (commonly known as god) that gave me so much.
its just bcuz it makes you wonder that people dont get contented with what they get.
Im sure that there would be another 2000 students who wrote this entrance worked as hard as him with as much intelligence as him....and the reason why he got 700th and not 2700th rank was because he was fortunate to be born in a good family that values education and provided him the oppurtunties to study better with good books, entrance classes etc etc etc...

just think of it... he is in the best .7% and he could hav just at 2.7% the best....
it aint a big margin if u put it this way still.........
its not just the marks... all my friends including me get food 4 times a day and a place to live...
we do have our personal troubles also... parents fighting, break ups, im not saying life is filled with roses.....

its just that these troubles seems nothing to me....
millions of children dont get water to drink... a place to stay...not even a slice of bread a day....couldnt walk or talk or play or see or hear.... couldnt read... couldnt study...and couldnt even get an oppurtunity to read this blog.

if u ask me that is what real suffering is...
and i am pretty much sure that you or me or the guy who got 700th rank could have been born like dat.
But we just happened to be lucky!!
